The twelve months
Month names always start with a capital letter.
| January (Jan-u-ar-y) | May | September |
| February (Feb-ru-ar-y) | June | October |
| March | July | November |
| April | August | December |
The tricky ones
- February: don’t forget the first r. Say it slowly: Feb-ru-ar-y.
- August: starts with Au (like autumn), not Ag.
- September, October, November, December all end in -ber, not -bre.
- July has only one l.
Days of the week
Monday · Tuesday · Wednesday · Thursday · Friday · Saturday · Sunday
Wednesday is the trickiest: say it the funny way, Wed-nes-day.
Watch out! Seasons are not months: spring, summer, autumn and winter don’t need capital letters.
Top tip: learn the four “-ber” months together as a team: September, October, November, December.
